Annual Golf Tournament
The Topeka Firefighters Local #83 will be hosting their annual golf tournament on Saturday, August 12 located at Great Life Golf/Fitness (formally Shawnee Country Club), 913 SE 29th. Proceeds from this tournament benefit the Community Service Fund, which provides assistance to organizations structured to help the citizens of Topeka. This fund also provides relief to firefighters during large fires. For information please contact Brandon Bauer (785) 249-8784.
The IAFF Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health Treatment and Recovery is a one-of-a-kind addiction treatment facility specializing in PTSD for IAFF members – and IAFF members only – who are struggling with addiction, PTSD other related behavioral health challenges to receive the help they need in taking the first steps toward recovery. It is a safe haven for members to talk with other members who have faced or overcome similar challenges.

Since the creation of Local 83 we have regularly given back to our community? Our members take great pride in giving back to those we serve.
Service programs in which we participate
We have regularly provided Santa and gifts to the residents of Kansas Neurological Institute (KNI) for several years through our KNI Christmas Party.
We also have given monetary and manpower support to other charitable organizations throughout the city. With the help of you, our citizens, we are most proud of contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). With the generous donations given through the “ help fill the boot ” campaign each year thousands of dollars are raised in one weekend to benefit the MDA.

DART – Downtown Adventure Race Topeka that helps support the “Let’s Help” organization.
The Scotty D. Memorial Christmas for Kids shopping event
